Vegetable Cheese Frittata and New Planter

 Quarantine supper tonite...   Live from NYC...

Bright sun...  blustery...  the chill wind sapping any warmth...   lots of folks out walking...  riding bikes...  playing ball at the park...  kids on swings...  parents sitting nearby masks on...  chatting...  scarves and jackets ever present.  Lots of birds chirping...  squawking...  tittering...  hopping from branch to branch as they chase mates for the season...  except cardinals... they stay together season to season...  our pair a flash of red in the neighbors treetops as they call to one another.  


Coffee ☕️ and a banana out on the deck in jacket and scarf...  too windy to stay long...  just long enough to admire THE NEW PLANTER 😁


IT’S FINISHED!!  

The hubs made a gorgeous planter out of wood upcycled from leftover pallets...  it’s simply stunning...  so thrilled...  

4’8” long...  about 32” high...  15” wide... the planting area is 18” deep...

Perfect!  Made just right so no bending to tend to the veggies ❤️


He’s been working on it quietly in his workshop all this past week...  no  peeking...  today it was placed in its spot outside the garage...  saw it out the window... then ran out to view it up close.  Super excited!!  


Can’t wait to fill it up with planting bags and veggies as the weather warms this coming week...  first crop will be lettuce 🥬...  cold tolerant and head forming (hoping) the seedlings are small but ready for their outdoor habitat...  lettuce will thrive in soil that is at least 40°F...  Ready to plant... so psyched!


Supper tonite...  a broccoli, onion, cheddar frittata on one side of the pan...  spinach, mushroom, onion, Gouda frittata on the other side of the pan...  leftover veggies from the two quiches made for Easter brunch tomorrow.  Delicious, but not very photogenic 🥘 


Over 150 million jabs administered to Americans thus far...  56 million fully vaccinated...  however...  we are also seeing a fourth surge in unvaccinated folks mostly due to variants more contagious and more infectious.  This is no time to let up...  we are getting so close to the finish line...  please...  make that appointment and #GetYourJabOn  become part of the solution...  until then...  you know what to do...  double mask up...  limit interactions...  glide through the market and wash those germy hands 😷💕
