Quarantine supper tonite... Live from NYC...
Weather whiplash... sunny skies... mild morning... early afternoon clouds rolled on in... steady drizzle... plummeting temps... down to mid 40’s tonite... needing the heat lamp in the greenhouse... keeping the babies snug. A fat breasted robin hopping about under the new planter... scarfing up worms and insects climbing out of the soil as the rain sogged the lawn.
Iced coffee ☕️ oatmeal with cinnamon and raisins... the hubs enjoying his hot cup of joe. A quick dinner chat... all ayes for a belated Cinco de Mayo celebration 🌮 The hubs in his workshop... continuing the re-organization plan... off to the market to pick up veggies and ingredients for tomorrow’s dessert.
Armed with the list... scooting through the aisles picking up needed items... a quick stop at the reduced produce shelf... loads of goodies on the rack... scored a bag of tomatoes... one of baby eggplants... one of mixed citrus... and lastly ears of corn. Each priced for quick sale at $2 for 5 lbs. Zooming home... getting started on supper... the tomatoes a perfect addition to the Cinco de Mayo theme quickly becoming fresh salsa.
Supper tonite... NACHOS... yum! One of our favorites 😋 Two layers of tortilla strips... sautéed ground meat... black beans... salsa... grated sharp cheddar... all topped with avocado crema... Tabasco on the side for those who like the heat 🔥 de-licious 😋
Sunday is Mother’s Day... this year Moms got THE perfect gift... vaccines 💉 for their loved ones and themselves so they could finally be together once again.
