Bibimbap with Homemade Pickled Vegetables & Garden Flowers

Quarantine supper tonite...  Live from NYC...

Pick of the week...  bright azure skies...  high clouds...  mild temps...  no jacket required...  so many birds out and about...  trilling...  squawking... singing...  tweeting...  a cacophony of song and dance as they flirt and chase one another from branch to branch...  selecting mates for the season.  Our fat squirrel no where to be found...  most likely nesting with her new babies.

Iced coffee ☕️ and a salami roll up...  oatmeal with cinnamon and raisins for the hubs with his hot java.  Dinner...  his choice...  bibimbap on the menu...  busy morning followed by a trip to the orthopedic surgeon for the hubs evaluation...  gaining strength and noticeable improvement...  a terrific report!   PT is working 😄

Afternoon spent playing in the greenhouse...  cucumbers moved to their permanent grow bags...  a good wash down...  time to de-pollen the roof and gutters...  Mr Sam supervising from his vantage point adjacent on the sun warmed boards.  Gave all a good long drink...  everyone looking healthy and happy on their benches.

Supper tonite... bibimbap...  toasted brown rice...  steamed baby bok choy...  spicy seared sausage...  pickled onion, cucumber and carrot... topped with snipped chives from the garden sesame seeds and an egg.  This time the pickled veggies all made in house a few days prior to dinner...  so fresh and delicious 😋

India is experiencing a catastrophic covid wave...  with cases spiraling out of control and hundred of souls lost daily.  We Americans are so fortunate to have three inoculations available to us...  if you haven’t already...  make that appointment and #GetYourJabOn  be part of the solution...  until then... you know what to do...  mask up...  limit interactions...  blast through the market and wash those germy hands 😷💕

How was your day?    What’s on your plate?    Thoughts?
